- Where is my data stored?
- All data is stored and processed exclusively in Nuremberg, Germany on Netcup infrastructure. Your monitoring data, account information, and incident history never leave the European Union.
- Are you subject to the US CLOUD Act?
- No. FoundersDeck is a German company operating under German and EU law exclusively. We are not subject to the CLOUD Act, FISA 702, or any non-EU government data access legislation.
- Do I need a DPA to use FoundersDeck?
- If you process personal data through FoundersDeck (e.g., monitoring URLs that contain personal data), a DPA is required under GDPR Article 28. We provide a pre-signed DPA as an instant download — no sales call required.
- How is this different from using UptimeRobot or Pingdom with "EU region"?
- Even when US-based tools offer EU hosting regions, the operating company remains a US legal entity subject to US law. The CLOUD Act gives US authorities the power to compel access to data regardless of where it is stored. FoundersDeck eliminates this risk entirely — German company, German servers, EU law only.
- What sub-processors do you use?
- We maintain a public sub-processor list with zero US-based providers. Every sub-processor is documented with their location, purpose, and legal basis. The list includes a changelog so you know exactly when and what changes.
