Where is my data stored?
All data is stored and processed exclusively in Nuremberg, Germany on Netcup infrastructure. Your monitoring data, account information, and incident history never leave the European Union.
Are you subject to the US CLOUD Act?
No. FoundersDeck is a German company operating under German and EU law exclusively. We are not subject to the CLOUD Act, FISA 702, or any non-EU government data access legislation.
Do I need a DPA to use FoundersDeck?
If you process personal data through FoundersDeck (e.g., monitoring URLs that contain personal data), a DPA is required under GDPR Article 28. Our DPA is published and automatically entered into when you accept our Terms of Service — no sales call, no signature required.
How is this different from using UptimeRobot or Pingdom with "EU region"?
An EU hosting region does not change who controls your data. Pingdom remains a US legal entity subject to the CLOUD Act regardless of region — and UptimeRobot, while EU-owned, runs on US infrastructure providers and permits data storage outside the EEA per its own privacy policy. FoundersDeck closes both gaps — German company, German servers, German infrastructure, EU law only.
What sub-processors do you use?
We maintain a public sub-processor list — all infrastructure and data processing providers are EU-based. Cloudflare is used for DNS resolution only and does not process any customer data. Every sub-processor is documented with their location, purpose, and legal basis.
Do your status pages use cookies or tracking?
No. Public status pages are completely cookie-free with zero tracking and zero third-party requests. This means no cookie consent banner is needed — your status page is clean, fast, and private.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export all monitoring data, incident history, and configuration in open formats (JSON, CSV) at any time. This fulfills the GDPR Article 20 right to data portability and ensures you are never locked in.
Does FoundersDeck help with NIS2 compliance?
FoundersDeck supports your NIS2 availability monitoring and incident reporting obligations under § 30 BSIG, the German NIS2 transposition in force since December 2025 (the directive's Art. 21(2) lists the underlying measures). Our automatic incident detection, alerting, and incident history documentation help you meet the requirements for service availability and incident notification — but NIS2 compliance requires more than monitoring alone.
